Aidan's rocks

Aidan found these rocks and broke them open. We are wondering why they are different colours inside Can anyone help us with ideas?

    We have found out that rocks have minerals in them. Minerals are different colours.

    I like your rock collection Aidan, I have seen some large rocks called Geodes that have crystals inside them. Have you seen any like that before? Julia (Zephan's Mum)
